Birds of a feather......

are popping up in my blog lately.  Probably the second most fun image for me to try coloring (with flowers being the first!) are birds.  And I like the images to be sort of "fantastical" and whimsical.  Soooo, I have another Whipper Snapper Design bird and I loved coloring it.  For this first time I, again, stuck fairly close to the colored picture on the stamp.  That just  really seems to work for me and help me get my confidence flowing that I can color the image.  So, here is my card, and I held off on a sentiment so I can put one inside for whatever occasion I will use this card for.  I like these ole' birds as they can be used for so many different types of cards.  Here it is.....I "enhanced" the photo as it is a super overcast day and the lighting just made the card look a bit "dark".  The first pic is the natural light and the second pic is "enhanced".  Which do you like better?

I am thinking that the enhanced version looks sort of neon or florescent.  Hmmmmm.

Be well,
Sheila

Lovely coloring, pretty image! I can't decide which I like better (natural light or enhanced)...I go through the same issues with my card photos! Mine are a work in progress, while yours are both lovely!

Sheila, both photos look good. I like the second one (only because it's lighter). Your colouring blows me away! I love the pp you have used as well xoxoxoxo

This is such a beautifully coloured image, Sheila. I love your perfectly matched papers and pretty bow trim:)

Personally, I prefer the lighting on your second card. It brings out the beautiful vibrant colours. I always try to enhance my photo's if the natural lighting is bad x

What a neat image that is, Sheila! LOVE the way you've colored it! So beautiful!

Gotta be honest and tell you that I much prefer the darker photo because I think it lets you see it in truer form and color. You have colored it so beautifully and I think the 2nd photo exaggerates the brightness too much. You also miss out on the distressing you did around the image on the 2nd photo.
I was just looking at this bird flipping thru the WSD site the other night...so pretty!

It's stunning Sheila. I much prefer the natural photo. Seem more vibrant and true to colour...... which I have to say is fabulous. Great card all round

Amazing coloring, Sheila! The natural photo just needs a bit of an exposure tweak to brighten it up. It does show the depth of color much better than the "enhanced" photo. It's a gorgeous card either way though!

You have become a master-colorer, Sheila! I like the second one better, but I have trouble with the same issues. This image and the way you have colored it somehow remind me of my Pennsylvania Dutch roots. The papers you have selected are so perfect. Love this!

I agree with Lisa - the first one shows the coloring and distressing a little better! But, then, your coloring is just outstanding, Sheila!

Wanted to let you know that I have given you the Liebster Award on my blog. Stop over and check it out. No worries if you don't participate in blog awards; just wanted to give you a shout out!

Great colors, Sheila! This, indeed, has a very magical appeal to it, perfect bold contrast of colors!
